Dear Concerned Neighbors:
As most of us are aware, the United States is again involved in war. And, as in all hostile actions, lives are lost in combat and other situations related to the cause of good.
However, the families of those whose lives are sacrificed experience the pain of grief and loss. There is also the sense of confusion and loss of direction.
Because war is necessary from time to time, families are torn apart in the fight for freedom. All too often, the family is left to grieve alone, after there is a sacrifice made by a member of the family.
Now to the purpose of this letter. It is hoped that your organization may be willing to make yourselves available, to the fathers and families of the fallen. Because grief is an ongoing process, an outlet for the release of grief is necessary from time to time.
Each of us as Gold Star Fathers, know from experience the agony of
grief. We have lost a son or daughter for the cause of freedom, YOUR
freedom.
Far too
often, after the death of a child many families end in divorce, or
possibly suicide. Because there have not been studies on the after
effects of these deaths, it is unknown what the final out-come is for
the parents, and other members of these families.
Therefore, we ask your organization, or someone associated with it, to be a contact and listen to the heart-ache and pain of a grieving father or family member.
The name of your organization with the contact name should be sent to:
Gold Star Fathers
Grief Outlet
1065 Flatwoods Lane
Paris, Tennessee 38242-7551
We are seeking organizations and individuals in each state, city, and town. It is never known when or where someone may need an outlet.
Thank you for any and all grief support made available. We appreciate your assistance in this endeavor.
In The Cause of Freedom
